A Week in Florida

After graduating I flew down to South Florida for a variety of reasons:
1. Maribel and Nikhil's wedding (see previous post)
2. See my South Florida friends before I head back to Guate
3. Some R&R from the hectic grad-week at Babson

It was a great week. As I crashed (as usual) at Ercole's place. Jorge, a friend of Maribel's from Peru, was also crashing at Ercole's place. It was a great week which included a BBQ at the beach, a couple nights of partying, and chilling out.
In addition, I drove up to West Palm and hung out with my college buddies Tito, Robby, and his sisters Maria and Marcela. It had been a couple years since I had seen them and it was well worth the ride up!

A Fusion Wedding!!!

What happens when a good-looking creative Indian guy marries a Peruvian-Chinese spit fire girl with a short temper and a big heart???

A HELLUVA WEDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of my closest friends (and ex-roommy) Maribel married Nikhil on the 24th of May. So after graduating from Babo I headed down to Miami for the wedding. I missed the Hindu wedding on Monday but made it to the bash on Thursday night at Vizcaya Gardens in Miami which was a beautiful backdrop for the wedding.

The food was Indian and mouth watering, the alcohol was flowing and boy did we dance our arses off!!! The DJs played a couple Indian songs followed by Latin songs...it was a mad-fusion and awesome.

I got to meet a lot of Maribel's friends and family which was great, also met Nikhil's family and hung out with a bunch of people from my old Motorola days.

I wish Maribel and Nikhil the best as they embark on this new journey and page of their life.

Beaver Graduation 2007

Yup I know, time flies. Two years and whoosh its over...why? Why can't we have one more year? There are a few more classes I wanted to take, a few more precious moments I wanted to spend with my classmates, a few more memories to make...but alas all good things must come to an end they say.

My father (Mustafa Ozseden)and sister (Kim) plus her boyfriend (Daniel aka Buho) came up for my graduation. They stayed for like 4 or 5 days and we had a good time. Unfortunately, the weather was not on our side as it was often rainy and gray but we made the most of it. I took my family to eat at my favorite hole-in-the wall ethnic restaurants: we had Greek, Indian, Mexican, Thai, and Turkish food.

We had a few events to go to: International Family Meet and Greet, Award Ceremony, and the actual ceremony as well. The speaker of our class was Allan Tellio who did a great job. Dean Rice also spoke (it is his last commencement as Dean of Babson) in addition to President Barefoot. This year’s guest speaker was Gary Hirshberg, Chairman, President, and CEO of Stonyfield Farm.

I know I have said it before but I will say it again, getting my MBA at Babson has changed not only how I look at life but it has also changed me.

Class of 2007, we are officially Babson MBA Beaver alumni. WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Now as my great friend Simeon Margolis would say: its time to put the degree to use and kick some arse.
